Las Vegas

One of the most fascinating aspects of Las Vegas is that it is a city that is constantly changing. The excitement of continuous re-invention and rapid growth has helped Las Vegas to achieve popularity, resulting in 37.5 million annual visitors. In 2010, visitors will see and experience more in Las Vegas than ever before. In December 2009, MGM MIRAGE debuted a 67-acre, $8.4 billion dollar "urban metropolis" called CityCenter. Other recent openings include, The M Resort, Planet Hollywood Towers by Westgate Resorts and a new tower at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

There's a good reason why Las Vegas is called the "Entertainment Capital of the World." Since its Rat Pack days, Las Vegas has been inextricably associated with legendary shows and entertainers. Today, the Las Vegas entertainment scene still has plenty of its classic glamour, but it has evolved to include so much more. The latest to open is Viva ELVIS by Cirque du Soleil at ARIA Hotel & Casino. This harmonious fusion of dance, acrobatics and live music is a tribute to the life and music of Elvis Presley. There are six other Cirque du Soleil shows along the Strip. Steve Wynn and Garth Brooks have announced that Brooks will perform in the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas for a series of special engagements. The announcement officially marks Brooks' return to the stage.

Once known for its all-you-can-eat buffets and bargain shrimp cocktails, Las Vegas has transformed itself into a top culinary destination. Within a decade, Las Vegas has redefined the culinary and wine experience by offering the most comprehensive collection of celebrity chefs and world-class restaurants, more Master Sommeliers than any other city in the world and more wine sold per capita than in any other destination. Bon Appétit magazine, a leading authority in the culinary world, cemented Las Vegas' place among U.S. dining capitals by declaring the destination as one of the nation's top five restaurant cities.

Las Vegas is becoming known for its "destination spas," with more than 45 luxury spas offered as amenities inside its famed resorts. The "Entertainment Capital of the World" just might become your favourite retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation. Ranging from public facilities to those available to hotel guests only, spas in Las Vegas are as varied as the resorts that house them. Spa services offered in Las Vegas include sport, Shiatsu and Swedish massages to soothe tired muscles and smooth away kinks; body treatments including herbal baths, wraps, aromatherapy and reflexology; relaxing amenities such as steam rooms, saunas and whirlpools; and full-service salons offering manicures, pedicures, facials and hair styling.

Las Vegas is constantly changing and the bar is always being raised. From a new luxury hotel opening, to the latest celebrity chef restaurant, great golfing, world class shopping or Grand Canyon adventures, there's always something new to experience.
