THE SPIRIT OF OAXACA

This adventure tour is designed for enthusiasts of craft beer who want to learn about traditional Mexican distilled and fermented beverages. We’ll take you into the Agave fields to harvest “honey water”, sample pre-Hispanic 'Pulque' from the Zapotec producers, visit craft breweries and family-owned mezcal producers. We’ll teach you about the region’s celebrated cuisine through cooking with beer and mezcal and dining in restaurants ranging from high end to the quaintest of roadside eateries.

But the “Spirit” of Oaxaca is much more than beer and mezcal, as this colonial city is a UNESCO designated artistic paradise! On the tour you’ll experience Day of the Dead ceremonies; spectacular scenic vistas; and famous artist’s studios, with demos of woodcarving, rug-weaving, black pottery and more. Your hosts in Oaxaca will be the Beer Lovers’ Tour Co. ambassador, Oliver Dawson, and former Torontonian, now Oaxaca resident, mezcal & pulque authority, Alvin Starkman.
